Raducanu reached the third round in three out of four major tournaments in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her final two events of the year due to a medical condition she has been battling for the last week and a half.

Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to recover ahead of launching next year's training.

These plans are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks while playing the initial match with Ann Li in Wuhan and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at the Ningbo Open this week, where she fell in a three-set match to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.

She was also playing far from freely in the final set against Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has affected her during parts of the season.

Those results signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally after a long gap for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in the third round in Beijing last month.

She secured 28 victories this year and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player advanced to the quarters of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

Her coach was trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with planned training sessions for the end of the year.

She mentioned that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.

Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three before being beaten by Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
