Iran Reports Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Plumes of black smoke were seen rising over an area adjacent to the central command of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has remained silent.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have shot down missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations linked to the the regime, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted missile fragments landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
