The England national team will embark on their UEFA Euro 2028 campaign at the Manchester City’s stadium, on the condition that they achieve the anticipated entry for a championship hosted across the bulk of Britain and the Irish Republic.

City’s stadium has not hosted an Three Lions fixture since the spring of 2016, when the visitors were overcome 2-1 in a exhibition match, but is expected to stage the England side for their opening fixture on a Saturday in June 2028.

Each host nation’s squad will participate in the qualifying tournament; two guaranteed slots will be reserved for any that miss out on the tournament through the qualification path.

Stadiums and Playoffs

The Birmingham venue and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium complete the nine host stadiums. All will hold at least one playoff fixture, with the quarterfinal matches played at the national stadium of each host.

The draw for the qualifiers will be staged in Belfast, which was excluded as a venue city last year when it was revealed Casement Park could not be renovated in time, on 6 December 2026.
